ABOUT THIS COURSE 

 

The Online ITCF course is a variation of the traditional face-to-face ITCF course. With a blended learning delivery model, this course is based on a modular approach and combines an online learning element and a face-to-face group session where candidates will put their learning into practice.

 

The course consists of: 

  • Up to 8 hours of online self-study 
  • Submission of assignments (3 videos, 2 lesson plans) via the BF LearningZone platform 
  • 8 hours of face-to-face delivery

AIM OF THIS COURSE

 

To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to deliver group sessions/lessons developing the basic skills of fencing.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

By the end of this course, you should gain a better understanding of how to:

  • Run groups sessions, safely and with a defined purpose
  • Run sessions specific to the participant needs
  • Plan player centred coaching sessions for beginners
  • Deliver sessions using basic coach process skills
  • Correct errors in basic fencing techniques

 

ENTRY LEVEL RECOMMENDATION 

  • Attended a Core Coach and/or have experience of fencing (ideally 12 months or longer)
  • Minimum age: 18 years old 
  • 16 & 17 year olds accepted on a club coach recommendation. Please email your recommendation to [email protected]

 

COACH REGISTER

 

Attending the ITCF course does not mean you are already on the BF Coach Register. To become a registered coach and be covered with BF insurance to coach, you must follow the steps described here

 

ACCESSING THE BF LEARNINGZONE

  • Your full name and email address will be used to set up a BF LearningZone account for you to access the course.
  • Your login details will be emailed to you up to 7 days after the payment of your booking fee. You will then be able to log in and familiarise with the learning platform.
  • However, your access to the online element of the course will not start until the pre-defined date.
  • You will have access to the online content for 90 days counting from the day you were enrolled (same day you received your log in details).

Terms and Conditions 2023/24

 

 

Bookings for BF Courses will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Please note your booking will NOT be confirmed unless payment for the full amount has been received. 
 
If a course is full, your name will be placed on a reserve list. If a place then becomes available you will be notified by email. Please therefore ensure you include a valid email address when placing your booking.

Full details about the course and directions will be sent out up to 7 days before the course.

 

Cancellation: Once your booking has been confirmed the following cancellation terms apply:

 

-       Within 14 days of your booking, and at least 30 days before the course start date: full refund.

-       After 14 days of your booking, and at least 30 days before the course start date: refund of the booking fee minus a £50 administration fee.

-       Within 30 days before the course start date: full fee is payable.

-       Non-attendance or partial attendance: full fee is payable.

-       Refunds will be processed within 14 days of your cancellation request.

 

Requests to change your booking to another course will follow these terms:

 

-       Changes will be allowed depending on the availability of places in the new chosen course.

-       At least 30 days before the start date of the original course: changes are possible at no extra cost.

-       Within 14 days of your booking, and later than 30 days before the start date of the original course: changes are possible upon payment of a £50 administration fee.

-       Within 14 days before the start date of the original course: changes are not possible, only new bookings are allowed.

 

Cancellations and change requests must be made in writing to [email protected].

 

We reserve the rights to withdraw or postpone a course if there are insufficient numbers to make the course viable, if the Coach Developer is ill, indisposed or in any other circumstance.

 

If, we have to cancel or postpone a course before its start date, you will be offered a full refund or a place in another course. If the new options are not acceptable to you, you will be entitled to a full refund. 

 

There may be exceptional circumstances where the course dates or location may be changed after the course has already started, for example, illness, or problems with the venue. If the new proposed dates and/or location are not acceptable to you, you will be entitled to a partial refund, proportional to the number of days you have not attended the course. A proportional refund will also be offered if we decide to cancel the course altogether after its commencement.

 

BF is not liable for any costs incurred for your participation on this course in the event the course is withdrawn or rescheduled.

 

Charges for this course are for the course attendance only. Travel to the course, the cost of accommodation, lunch and all other expenses are your responsibility.

 

Occasionally, BF may be able to facilitate access to these services (for example, through partnerships with other organisations). Such offers will be described on the booking form, as well as what candidate information will be shared externally, in order to provide you with the services requested. If, for any reason, these services cannot be provided, BF and the partner organisation are not liable to any sort of compensation.

 

BF may reject your booking if you don’t meet the entry-level recommendations on age and fencing or coaching experience. Please contact [email protected] if you have questions about these requirements.

 

Equipment is not provided by BF and must be supplied by the candidate. All equipment must be safe to use, and no refund will be made if a BF Coach Developer has not allowed a candidate to participate due to unsafe equipment. Therefore, please ensure your equipment is safe to use before you bring it to the course. More information on safety guidelines can be found here.

 

Occasionally, BF take photos or videos of fencing activities. We may use these images in printed material that we produce, in displays and on our website. We may also make video or webcam recordings for monitoring, evaluation, training, educational or marketing purposes. By agreeing with these terms and conditions, you grant permission for your image to be used as described before. If you would like to withdraw your consent, please email [email protected].

 

We also send images to the news media, or our activities/events/competitions may be visited by the media who will take their own photographs or film footage (for example, of a visiting dignitary or other high-profile event). People will often appear in these images. The news media may use the images in printed publications (including local or national newspapers), on televised news programmes or on their website. They then store them in their archive. They may also syndicate the photos to other media for possible use, either in printed publications, on websites, or both. When we submit photographs and information to the media, we have no control on when, where, if or how they will be used.
